Updated Yandex.Navigator no longer eats battery?

Two days ago, Yandex released a new version of its Navigator. There was no official announcement on the hub , but shifttstas did an overview of the new features. A separate thread of comments, as I expected, was a discussion of the gluttony of the program. For example, on my Samsung Galaxy Note, the Navigator consumed battery even when connected (standard!) Auto-charging. Usually the charge was kept at the same level or, at best, grew by 1-2% per trip, but periodically the phone was discharged "to zero". I agree, this is a problem of specific devices, similar cases are noted on SGS II, but to eat all processor resources, even one core, is too much for a navigation program.

And today, I noticed that during the trip to work with the Navigator, the battery was charged from 12 to 20 percent. At the same time, the device did not heat up as much as usual. Yesterday I launched a new version on the tested Highscreen Yummy Duo - the device lay with the Navigator running and the screen turned on for 3 hours and was discharged by only 30%. Previously, the battery completely died in a couple of hours of operation of the navigator without charging. There is nothing about optimization in the list of improvements for the current version. So, maybe it happened by chance. In any case, I express gratitude to Yandex and hope that this correction, nevertheless, is done consciously and will not be lost in the next version. If this is so, then maybe someone will answer the question why modern navigation software is so resource-demanding? As far as I understand, To draw a three-dimensional map, a hardware 3D accelerator must be used. After all, even playing HD-video consumes much less resources.

PS Who has already tried the new version - confirm if you have an improvement in battery consumption.
