Review of OnePlus 6. When the Chinese did the same thing as last time

In Russia, many people love Chinese smartphones. As a rule, when buying them, the user also gets a bunch of problems in the form of un-debugged software and unbalanced configuration. However, there are happy exceptions - of course, they are Xiaomi and OnePlus phones. And if the former have solutions of a very different price segment, then the OnePlus device is always “top or so” at the time of release.

Smartphone OnePlus 6 continues the tradition of the entire line of OnePlus - the characteristics of it and really top. Let's start by going over its main technical characteristics.

    Screen - 6.28 ", 2280x1080 (19: 9), AMOLED, Corning Gorilla Glass

As you can see, the characteristics are just great. The screen is a fashionable format and AMOLED (someone does not like this technology, but it is economical and gives excellent colors), fast processor and GPU, MUCH memory, a lot of built-in flash, support for LTE band 20, lots of positioning options.

Of the minuses, it is worth mentioning the lack of support for microSD (although I don’t really know where to use more than 128 GB on the phone), as well as Dash charging, due to which the smartphone uses the USB 2.0 standard to communicate with the computer (albeit in the Type- C, and this is normal).

    Appearance and ergonomics

It looks like a smartphone in accordance with modern standards for creating such devices.

Thin frames at the top, bottom, along the edges - the screen takes up almost all the free space.

As an inevitable evil in such cases - “monobrow” comes to us, that is, a cut-out under the camera, a speaker and sensors on top of the screen.

Touch buttons, if desired, their location can be changed.

If you look from the side - the device is very thin. On the left is the volume rocker.

Next to the connector - a slot for SIM cards. You can throw two nano-sims, but microSD support, alas, no.

It is even surprising that with such thickness it was possible to keep the headphone jack. It is located below, near the Type-C connector for charging and synchronization, as well as the speaker. The speaker, as you can see, is monaural, and there are no additional stubs.

On the right is the on / off button, and the distinctive feature of OnePlus smartphones is a special silent switch. The three-position switch is “normal mode”, “vibration” and “do not disturb”. Convenient - I forgot to turn off the sound during the report, as soon as someone started to ring out - and drowned out the device without having to climb the menu.

Above just the microphone jack for noise reduction.

My device was in the Mirror Black version, and I want to say that it really reflects everything around like a mirror.

Honestly, this “brilliance” even annoys me, but in general I liked the design of the OnePlus 3T the most. There was a nice brushed metal, and it was great.

Behind - two cameras one below the other, below them - a flash, under it - a fingerprint sensor. Sensor works just a bullet.

This is what a smartphone looks like from behind, if nothing is reflected in it.

    And a little closer.

In the kit, besides the most obvious, there is also a silicone case.

In the case of the smartphone looks decent, I wore it all the time.

In addition, he cleans the camera. It is interesting when manufacturers will no longer make artsy buildings, and make a device for using a case? Still, without it, smart is too thin.

Here is the device in the case below.

    View of the volume rocker.

    And on the silent switch.

Charging included. The usual Dash Charge, but slightly swollen. I had a Chinese version, so the connector is flat. The European version will have the appropriate plug, and Chinese stores always put a cheap adapter in the kit.

The box is traditionally beautiful. But nothing special.

Something from Xiaomi, something from the iPhone.

    Bottom - TTX.

    Testing performance

It would be strange to expect from such a smart some performance other than the top one, but, nevertheless, I drove everything.

In general, you have clearly not expected any performance problems. Absolutely all the games will go, and the stock will be several years ahead (taking into account the fact that even at 820 Snapdragon, which was released almost 3 years ago, everything goes at maximum resolution).

    Camera

The main sensor has a resolution of 16 megapixels, the physical size is 1 / 2.6 ", and the lens aperture is f / 1.7. There is also optical stabilization. Apparently, the cameras are the same as in the OnePlus 5T, that is, the Sony IMX519 and Sony . IMX376K

Here is the picture with the "wide angle".

That's because - with the "approximation".

As you can see in good light - beautiful colors, good detail, and the compression is low (you can popriblizhat just grass and trees and see).

Here's how only the weather becomes cloudy - all is not so rosy.

But the macro turns out perfectly.

Co. Obviously, the camera is unable to withstand the Huawei P20 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S9 +, etc. However, this is probably one of the best cameras among Chinese smartphones.

There is a good portrait mode - a little bit of processing, but does not smooth down the skin at 0.

But compared to 5T, almost nothing has really changed.

Shooting by OIS is also much better.

    Battery life

Compared to the OnePlus 5T, the sixth version of the screen has increased and the hardware platform has changed, but the battery capacity remained the same as it was - 3300 mAh. And although fans of "bricks" from companies like Oukitel twist their nose, in fact this is enough for normal work due to an economical screen.

My smartphone worked in a balanced mode for about a day, which approximately corresponded to the battery life of OnePlus 5T. According to the results of the iXBT.com standard battery test, the battery life in reading mode was 23 hours and 30 minutes, in online video mode it was 14 hours and 30 minutes, and in 3D game mode it was only 3 hours.

Charging Dash Charge allows you to fully charge a discharged smartphone in one hour and 20 minutes.

    Total

In the pros - a powerful platform, a good (but not great) camera, an excellent screen.
In neutral features - the appearance (in my opinion, rather boring)
Of the minuses - the lack of microSD

In general, this is really a very worthy Chinese smartphone. Of course, official Russian prices, as always, are striking in their inadequacy (45, 49 and 55 thousand rubles for 6/64, 8/128 and 8/256 GB, respectively), and it is better for "white" to buy P20 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S9.
But Chinese prices are much more interesting (see, for example, in Gearbest, the options are 6/64 GB ,   8/128 GB8/256 GB ).
