Lexmark discontinues inkjet printers

    Yesterday, Lexmark announced the discontinuation of inkjet printers since 2013, as well as the dismissal of 1,700 employees. Maintenance, support and supply of consumables for the sold devices will continue for several years: ink and cartridges will be produced for another two years, here the margin is high .

    Employees of the R&D department, the sales and service department partially fall under dismissal. By the end of 2015, the Lexmark-owned consumables plant in the Philippines will be closed. Now Lexmark is looking for a buyer for an existing package of patents and technologies in the field of inkjet printing.
