Unusual tablet from ASUS - Taichi

Now the competition in the market of ultrabooks, laptops and netbooks is very high. Manufacturers are struggling to attract the attention of buyers with all sorts of innovations. Sometimes these are really interesting innovations, practical and effective, but there are also very strange novelties. It is to such new devices that the tabletbook belongs (otherwise it is difficult to characterize the device) from ASUS. The device was called Taichi.

This is a netbook (or ultrabook) with two displays. Two displays does not mean that the screen is displayed, as it happens. No, displays are on both sides of the cover. Strange decision, right? Both displays support 1920x1080 resolution, both sides are equipped with cameras. There are 2 USB 3.0 ports, a mini VGA port, mini HDMI, DisplayPort. The processor is installed Core i7 processor (Ivy Bridge). The device is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and an SSD drive. There are two models that differ in size. One of the models is equipped with displays with a diagonal of 11.6 inches, the second with displays with a diagonal of 13.3 inches.

One of the displays, which is located on the outside, is touch. The developers claim that the external display is bright enough even with minimal settings. External and internal display can show both the same picture, and different. Developers position the device as a hybrid of a tablet and an ultrabook - the external display also works with the lid closed, so it turns out something like a tablet.

The presence of two displays is more a whim of the manufacturer than a necessity. Of course, there are users attracted by this feature of the device. But we must think that the external display makes the tabletbook even more fragile than in the case of a conventional ultrabook / netbook. Many users have the habit of leaving something on the cover of a closed laptop, some put laptops in a pile - provided that there are several such devices at home or in the office. And here - one careless movement, and all, to the external (and possibly internal) display end.

Anyway, this is not a concept, but a device that will be sold in October this year. The price, unfortunately, is unknown.
