How does InstaCRT work?

The aesthetics of retro photographs, so successfully marketed by the fashionable hipster Instagram app, leaves developers indifferent. And, apparently, attracting users to their creations does not mean only programming and the usual marketing techniques.

Someone Martin Ström, a developer from Stockholm, created the InstaCRT application for iOS, which has one function - filtering the image so that it creates the impression of an image on old black-and-white tube TVs.

The finished photo looks like this:

However, the most interesting thing is not this, but that it is located under the hood of InstaCRT. The application works this way:

    • The captured photo is sent to the media server installation, assembled by the creator of the application in Stockholm. The installation has the following form:

    • The picture is displayed on a CRT monitor (you can see better on the video), which produces a picture as shown in the photo above, and is photographed by a SLR camera.
    • After 25 seconds, the captured photo is sent to the owner’s iPhone, where he can fully enjoy it.

Everyone can buy an application that creates a filter in the most natural way in an analogue way, in the AppStore for $ 1.99. The developer will soon promise the development of the application, if it will be successful with the audience.
