Excursion to the Moscow data center Rostelecom
As we already wrote, 7 data centers located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk Region and the Khabarovsk Territory will ensure the operation of the video surveillance system for elections.
The other day I went on an excursion to the Moscow data center (DPC). Under the cut, brief information and a photo report.
The photos below show racks with server and network equipment. There are more than 40 such racks in the Moscow data center. In total, more than 260 servers work in them. Volume of data storage system 1.2 Petabytes.
Each rack is locked with a key.
But on an excursion they were opened.
Cables connect the racks in boxes above the racks.
And under the floor.
The speed of communication lines between servers is 10 Gbit / s, and the data center channel is 240 Gbit / s.

All the premises of the data center are equipped with a video surveillance system.
The building is connected to 3 independent lines from different substations, and the local uninterruptible power supply system includes two independent diesel generators and a room with UPS:
