Flying capacitor

We were taught in aviation - almost everything can fly!
But only beautiful products fly well.

Everyone has heard such expressions as “Flying Tank”, “Flying Fortress”, “Flying Car”.
Everyone knows that planes and very low crocodiles fly.

This is a saying, now “The Tale of the Flying Capacitor”.

I needed to somehow make a galvanic isolation.
This was in the era of the 555th series. In the presence of a beautiful ADC chip.
She already had no carrying handles, so only her legs were gilded.
It was necessary for the golden-legged beauty to be unleashed from the dangers of the outside world, whose role in this tale was played by a monster in the guise of a temperature converter. And it really was a monster - big, black, constantly fueled by someone else's energy directly from the network.
A pacifier resistor was connected to the output of the converter, which translated the nerve currents into a more gentle voltage.

I'm not an electronic engineer, I'm just studying. But for the sake of those whom I love, I am capable of any miracles.
I began to read about the methods of decoupling.
Decoupling, this is when two circuits are connected, but without electrical contact.
The most common methods are transformer and optical.
But these are not our methods - there is no intrigue!
    I began to think ...

    Temperature data is rarely needed.
There was a thought - what if we use a matchmaker in the form of a relay?
    No sooner said than done!
I applied two RES-55 relays. Of course, it is desirable to use only one relay with two pairs of switching contacts, but this was not found - at that time there were no electronic stores, and policemen drove those who were fond of it.

You don’t have to draw a diagram - I will explain it in words.
The capacitor is connected to the switching contacts of the relay - one and the second.
As long as no voltage is applied to the relay windings, the switching contacts are connected to permanently closed relay contacts. Closed contacts are connected to a monster - a temperature transducer.
As a result, we have that the capacitor is constantly charged to a voltage proportional to temperature.

When the ruler of the world - the electronic circuit wanted to know how it was with the temperature, a short impulse was sent to the relay windings and the capacitor successfully flew to other contacts, where the beauty met him. The meetings were short - giving up part of his energy, the capacitor weakened a little and returned to the base, where he reached the condition and no one bothered him until the next flight.

The simple task was to limit the time of the meeting, during which the temperature sensor readings appeared without distortion at the ADC output.
It was also necessary at the right time to start the ADC, after when the relay contacts cease to shake from the oncoming shock.

If you look at a horizontally located diagram , then our hero will be in the upper left corner.
The switching contacts of the relay resemble wings that “wave” at the time of the flight of the capacitor.
As it should be in aviation, to improve the aerodynamic characteristics, a beautiful streamlined body filled with a compound was used.

According to the passport, the relay resource is as much as two million operations for such meetings. According to calculations, this was enough for several years of work.
Life has fully confirmed this. In less than 18 years, the old automation boards were replaced with more modern systems.

So the “Flying Capacitor” was realized with refueling in the air.
And a fairy tale about beauty, love and a monster was born.
And I got what I wanted - the denouement.

PSThe Biffeld-Brown flying capacitor is not relevant to this project.
