CES 2012 // At Sony (Ericsson) again "esochka"
Many expected CES 2012 to be the last for Sony Ericsson. There were also rumors that Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD will be shown at CES. But everything turned out to be wrong: two smartphones with similar characteristics were presented, and both under the Sony brand, although the old Sony Ericsson logos flaunted on most of the samples, and company managers very much asked not to photograph dual-brand gadgets.
I was surprised that in a long and frankly boring presentation, which was mainly devoted to how Sony ships surf the Bolshoi Theater, so little time was said about Xperia smartphones. No more than new 3D titanium glasses or a remote control with a QWERTY keyboard. But still, the president of Sony personally announced the Xperia S. We immediately predict confusion: the only Sony tablet is also called S.

By the way, the Pope was found in the same presentation - he was portrayed with the Sony Tablet S. Sometimes, competition with Apple takes very strange forms ...
Here is what was said in the presentation about Sony Xperia S: it has the largest screen resolution among Android-backgrounds (like Sony Ion), and it is “PlayStation sertified” - i.e. it will be possible to play “console” games specially adapted for the smartphone. And they also said that the device will go on sale in March.

When you get a closer look at the smartphone, you understand why it’s not Arc - it doesn’t have the same arch, the curved part of the back panel that made it special.

But still, the smartphone looks interesting. Although at first you click on the Android symbols on the plastic insert, you soon get used to the fact that these are just symbols, but you need to press a little higher, there is a touch strip.

There are three chips: a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, musicality (equalizers like “crazy sound” and the ability to quickly “share” your favorite tracks on a social network) and a camera (12 megapixels and super-fast photo launch). They compared the launch speed of the camera with the Samsung Galaxy Note - yes, it’s impressive!

1.5 Hz dual-core processor, NFC support and 32 GB of internal memory, but there is no flash card slot. So far, the Esochka is launching Android 2.3, but in the spring it should get an update to 4.0.
