German District Court finds Apple guilty of infringing Motorola patents

Patent wars continue, and it seems that in this war now there can be no single winner or loser. Not so long ago, Apple was on the ball, having managed to ban the sale of competitive tablets from Samsung. Now, the Yabloko people themselves have to endure the consequences of lawsuits from the domain sphere. Motorola won this time, accusing Apple of infringing certain patents.
A German court agreed with Motorola, and the lawsuit against Apple was granted. So far, Motorola has received only a preliminary opinion, which may affect the future fate of Apple devices in Germany. The fact is that with special care, Motorola will be able to achieve a ban on the sale of some devices from Apple (the most likely candidates for the ban on sales are iPhone and iPad, and so far only in Germany), which violate patent laws. True, this step can be quite difficult, because Apple does not work directly in Germany, but through a subsidiary, which allows us to avoid a ban on the sale of “intruders” devices.
As previously reported, infringements relate to two Motorola patents that relate to wireless data transmission. Now Apple continues to sell its devices without restrictions. But this threatens the corporation with further proceedings and even a fine of a quarter million euros. The company’s representatives have already said that nothing bad happened, and the court’s decision will not affect the sale of devices in Germany (we’ve heard it somewhere, right?).
All this becomes even more interesting if you recall that several months ago Google began a deal to acquire the assets of Motorola Mobility. At the same time, Google is moving away patents from the mobile sphere that previously belonged to Motorola. One must think that the proceedings will continue, and Motorola (read - Google) will not stop at a simple decision of the German district court.
