Web Standards Days, Minsk 2011

Do you miss the "Web Standards Days" ? Meet me! The completely informal, albeit fully official Web Standards Days event is back in Minsk: on October 29, 2011, we are gathering together to comprehensively discuss modern frontend development and exchange invaluable experience in this area.

Who is in charge here?

The second meeting in Minsk has been organized by the Web Standards Developer Association and the LOVATA Group. The “Web Standards” association has accounted for dozens of such meetings in big cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Riga), where professionals and those who are just going to become them share their opinions, experiences, and new ideas in the field of web technologies. LOVATA Group is a Belarusian web developer that pays serious attention to innovative technologies and actively introduces them in its projects: it is thanks to the confident adherence to open web standards that the company acts as a co-organizer of Web Standards Days.

The company Opera Software is responsible for the organizational support meetings and projects Rabota.TUT.by and IT.TUT.BY - for information.

What will we talk about?

First and foremost, about web applications and web interfaces: their development, debugging, adaptation to mobile devices, code quality control, etc. The purpose of the meeting can be defined as providing relevant and practical information to web professionals who seek to deepen their knowledge and improve your professional level.

How to get to the meeting?

To participate, you must submit an application by filling out the form on the official website. And do not believe that “free cheese is only in a mousetrap”: participation in our event is really completely free.

And what will be interesting there?

Everything will be interesting! Invited speakers as speakers from companies such as Opera Software, Mail.Ru Group , SUP Fabrikand others, will share their own practical experience, offer effective solutions to pressing issues and talk about how to most successfully apply modern web standards. By the way, there will be exactly two reports more than at the last Minsk meeting.

In preparation for the meeting, the “Browser War” competition was launched jointly with the Mail.Ru Group company . Competition entries will be accepted until 08:00 October 24 Minsk time, and the results will be announced on the “Web Standards Days”. Do not forget to bring a laptop with you in order to take part in the Active Technologies contest , which will be announced directly during the meeting. Winners of all competitions will be awarded at the closing ceremony. Moreover,OZ.by online store will also encourage the most active participants in the meeting - at Web Standards Days everyone will have the opportunity to prove themselves.

For those who will not be able to attend the meeting, it is planned to organize an online broadcast of speakers' speeches.

What is the action plan?

The meeting will take place in the conference hall of the Johannes Rau Minsk International Educational Center at 11 Pravda Gazeti Avenue. There will be a free wireless Internet zone in the conference hall and lobby of the center, kindly organized by Atlant Telecom .
