Steam switches to prices in rubles! Officially!

What was previously at the rumor level was officially confirmed: Steam games will be sold in rubles.

This information is confirmed by the newsletter from noreply@steampowered.com and the subject of the letter “Steam: Currency Change to Rubles”. The following is the text of the letter:

Dear Steam User,

Steam will soon be priced in Russian Rubles.

If your wallet has any money in it on September 13th, 2011, your US Dollar balance will be converted to Rubles, at a conversion rate dictated by market value at the time of conversion.

To view your account balance, simply log into the Steam client or Steam store and visit your account details.
