The first thing to know. There are two types of goals.

The first is those that need to be achieved. One must earn money so as not to die of hunger, one must develop in order to be in demand and so on. This is obvious and few people raise questions, such goals cannot be missed.

The second is what you want. This is motivation.

Why don't people fly like birds?

Because there are no wings. Why do most people quit after starting or not at all starting useful things for themselves? Because there is no motivation. There is not enough desire to carry out long-term activities. A year ago, I was faced with a terrible, as it seemed to me then, problem - I did not have enough time and desire for absolutely nothing. I started to read the book and quit in two days, started jogging in the mornings and suddenly found myself busy with urgent things, I started my studies and work so much that I ended the session at best with half marks “good”, and at a rather primitive job I missed all possible deadlines and eventually lost it.

At that time, one smart person strongly recommended that I read Daniel Granin’s book “ This Strange Life", A kind of biography of the famous Soviet scientist Alexander Alexandrovich Lyubishchev . At first it was wildly boring, but gradually I became interested. So much so that the book ultimately turned my whole life upside down, put it from my head to where I needed to - to my feet.

What is her secret? This is not another guide, “How to Become Effective and Not Be Afraid of Your Goals in 15 Days,” not a collection of rules, not even a book with magic spells stolen from Hogwarts. The most interesting thing is that there is no secret, it's just an unusual biography of an unusual person. It “simply” tells about the fact that at the age of 18 Lyubishchev understood the undoubted importance and necessity of planning and what he did from this moment to the end of his life.

Draw a plan on the map.

Remember the lines from the wonderful radio play of the times of the USSR “Alice in Wonderland”:

“In order not to fall into the trap,
In order not to get lost in the dark,
To land in the right place, splash down -
Draw a plan on the map.”?

Despite the humor and comic mood, the advice is incredibly efficient and useful. Only comprehensive planning and very little luck help you not to fall into the traps and get out of the pits into which we sometimes drive ourselves.

At one time, I also came across an article “ Rules of personal effectiveness from ED"- an excellent motivating article. Instantly, the urge to do something and do it is 100500% better than before. Only at me this desire both caught fire and went out. After I learned about competent planning (this is not a hyperbole, the “universal” methods that most people use often take a lot of time and effort, the Lyubishchev system was honed exclusively by him for himself for many years of his life) and analyzed that situation it became clear what I was missing from the beginning.

Specifically, that article helped clarify my head and see, if not immediately, what I want and should do, it helped a lot in setting goals. This was not enough, but I already took the first step. Six months passed before I read Granin's book and began to cautiously move on. The next step was to break down goals into concrete actions. The goal was “Learn to swim,” until I was 20 years old I couldn’t swim otherwise than down. But I was able to learn, thanks to the implementation of the actions - “find the nearest pool”, “find out the working hours and the price for the lesson”, “find the sensible trainer” and “start the lessons from the second of July”. This goal was achieved, everything went perfectly.

Since the beginning of the application of the planning system, I have made failures, only the lesson of the article about high efficiency has already been learned. Each failure was subjected to careful analysis - “how? What? Where? Why? Who is guilty? What to do? ”, The causes of failure were invariably found. And subsequent planning, taking into account them, helped to achieve the goals in full.

There is one small, but weighty “BUT” - to achieve a sustainable result, you must live in a frantic (as people see from the outside) cycle mode “goal - planning - execution - analysis - new goal” for some time. The first time I didn’t succeed, I tried again a month later, time after time the uncertain step turned into a completely confident run through life. I remembered that there is no such a wonderful pill, a magic word, a “unique one-week-work” method. I tried and made a mistake until finally I came to the point that I am now - there are no problems with my studies, an interesting job as a translator has been found, regular physical education classes make themselves felt very good in health, constant reading of books increases erudition and broadens one's horizons.

And that helped me a lot, served as support and gave confidence in the result - this is experience. The experience of other people who set incredible goals and achieve them. This is not only the aforementioned Lyubishchev (although he gave the main impetus), but also the famous politician Benjamin Franklin with his famous autobiography , and the protagonist of Daniyar Surgalinov's story “ Bricks ”, and King George VI, who is familiar to many from the film “The King Says”, and wrestler Dustin Carter , left without limbs, and just surrounding people.

Yes, take a look around and take a closer look at each - each of us is surrounded by many people seeking their own. Why not try it yourself?
