IFA 2011 Day 2: Samsung Galaxy Note, NX200, MV800, and Lenovo U300s

On the second day, we managed to get to the Samsung booth, however, as soon as we managed to get closer to the Galaxy Note we were interested in, the company employees immediately ran up and for some reason was forbidden to shoot: they say, then! We did not begin to conflict, so a more detailed video will most likely be rolled out tomorrow.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Smartphone is equipped with a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and is made using Super AMOLED technology. The monster is controlled by the Android 2.3 operating system with the TouchWiz proprietary interface. High performance is provided by a dual-core processor manufactured by Samsung with a clock frequency of 1.4 GHz cores, a gigabyte of RAM and a Mali-400MP graphics accelerator. The device is stuffed with an 8-megapixel main camera and a front-facing 2-megapixel webcam, support for 3G networks and a 16/32 GB drive. The capacity of its replaceable battery is 2500 mAh, the thickness of the device is less than a centimeter (9.65 mm), and the Galaxy Note weighs 178 grams. In addition to it, the company also introduced a special stylus with which you can leave notes on the screen of the Galaxy Note. Prices

In addition, they managed to turn the NX200 and MV800 cameras in their hands.

The mirrorless Samsung NX200 is equipped with a 20.3-megapixel AOS-C format CMOS sensor, that is, the same size as in the available DSLRs. This leads to unkind thoughts that Samsung is still continuing the megapixel race. While other manufacturers have already realized its hopelessness and are focusing on new features and stuffing cameras.

The camera can take pictures at a speed of 7 frames per second and video clips with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels in progressive scan at 30 frames per second. The captured material can be viewed on a 3-inch AMOLED display with VGA resolution. Lenses with a proprietary Samsung i-Function chip are supported, and, most importantly, the autofocus speed has been improved. According to the assurances of the developers, it now does not exceed 0.1 seconds

You can evaluate the results that such a small matrix with such a huge resolution produces by four whipped photos. This is not to say that they greatly pleased, but did not disappoint: ISO800 ISO1600 ISO3200 ISO6400 .

But ergonomics in places did not like much - sharp edges unpleasantly dig into the palm of your hand, and the travel of the wheel for switching shooting modes is very tight.

The second significant new product is the seemingly unremarkable Samsung MV800 compact. It would seem that an ordinary middle-class soap dish with a 5x zoom lens and familiar functionality. Unless there are more megapixels than other representatives of the class - 16.1.

But not so simple. Firstly, a 3-inch touchscreen camera display. Secondly, it leans back in one plane - you can move it up and back down, which will greatly facilitate the shooting of self-photos or frames from a lower angle.

And finally, the third new product is the Lenovo U300s. Unlike the Samsung booth employees, the Lenovo guys were much more friendly. We were allowed to see everything in detail and simply asked not to publish the review before 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Moscow time.

Lenovo U300s is a continuation of the best traditions of the IdeaPad U260, but the detailed specifications are still kept secret, so we can only talk about what we saw with our own eyes. The Unibody-case is made of aluminum, it is quite thin (14.9 mm thick) and light (it feels no more than 1.2-1.3 kg).

The matte surface of the case is pleasant to the touch and not easily soiled. The screen is glossy only, its diagonal is 13.3 inches. U300s will run on Core i3 / i5 / i7 processors.

There are quite a few connectors: USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, an audio input and a connector for connecting a power adapter.

The gadget turned out to be very interesting and, undoubtedly, deserves a detailed review. Only one thing was embarrassing - a very sharp edging of the case.
