New capacious server SSDs will appear next month
New SSDs made using the MLC (multi-level-cell) technology with a capacity of 100, 200 and 400 GB will appear next month. These drives are intended for enterprise solutions in the field of data storage.

The SSD market is growing rapidly, and Samsung, having a solid position in the market of SLC disks (single-level-cell), is expanding its range with more capacious (SLCs allow you to store only one bit of information in each cell, MLC - two) MLC NAND solutions .
Using a 30nm process and 3GB / s SATA controller allowed us to achieve the performance of SLC disks, even surpassing it in some tests. The new MLC SSDs can read at 43,000 I / O operations per second (IOPS) and write at 11,000 IOPS. For comparison, a HDD with a spindle speed of 15,000 RPM pulls out only 350 IOPS.
As for energy consumption, the new SSDs overtake the 15k RPM HDD by 150 times in the IOPS / Watt ratio, which allows you to process 150 times more data while consuming the same amount of energy.
In addition, these drives feature end-to-end data protection with advanced encryption algorithms for reliable and secure data storage.
With the new SSDs, we are expanding our server line, which includes 2.5-inch SLC NAND drives of 50, 60, 100 and 120 GB, 2.5-inch MLC NAND drives of 100, 200 and 400 GB, and 3.5-inch SLC SSDs of 100 and 200 GB

PS
Taking this opportunity, we congratulate all the Khabrovsk citizens with the Coming and wish them good memory ;-)
