Yandex.Money, SMS-Info and Otkritie Bank - a history of personal experience


    In the following note, I want to share my experience in using the cards of the Otkritie bank card and the Yandex.Money wallet. I hope she helps someone and saves a certain amount of nerve cells.
    I have been using the binding service for exactly 2 years. Almost immediately, after entering this service, I specially got my first bank card in my life and connected it to my wallet.

    And then two years passed, and it was time to change the card for a new one. I had a rumor that I had to go to the bank in advance, but I, as usual, pulled to the last. He untied the wallet from the card, came to the bank three weeks before the end of the validity period of the card and asked me to make a new one. With me, the girl issued Visa Unembossed within 20 minutes and I was happy to stomp home to wait for activation and go conjuring with an ATM. It was necessary to conjure, since for a new plastic all services, except Internet banking, had to be reconnected.

    A little distracted from the topic with Yandex. My first problems started after I activated the SMS notification service about transfers and charges. They simply did not come. I wrote in support to the mail, the address of which is indicated on the main page of the bank, but did not wait for an answer. Silent by mail from August 16 to today. A few hours later I called to find out if there were any technical works, because of which SMS might not work. After talking for about five minutes, we found out that I forgot to disconnect the service from the first card, and I didn’t get attached to the second card, even despite the check from the ATM about a successful connection. As a result, I had to go back to the bank branch, where I quickly did everything and notifications began to come.
    Morality - Do not forget to deactivate the SMS-info service before receiving a new card, if you want to receive information on the same phone number.

    The second pleasantness was waiting for me already with this service. I tried three times to tie my old wallet, tied to the first card, to a new card, but
    it didn’t work out for me. The ATM stubbornly issued: "An account already exists." I went to a bank employee, complained and received a rather amusing answer, which dumbfounded me. I was told that this account, which I have been using since 2006, I will no longer be able to link to any card of their bank. Saddened by this turn of events, I wrote a letter to Yandex.Money. They answered quickly enough:
    The Bank has a policy according to which they do not
    connect a new card to one account . There are no obstacles to this from our side. We know of cases
    when the bank went to meet the client and carried out the binding. We are sure that you
    can solve this issue with the bank.

    Having received a drop of hope, he called the bank support service, where he long and stubbornly sought mercy. Everything was in vain: the girl on the other end of the wire did not give up. There was nothing left to do but make a new wallet, which successfully connected with a new card. But there was one more trifle. An electronic token is attached to my old wallet, which I really didn’t want to lose (nevertheless, it costs 700 rubles). He wrote again that it is impossible to go to a meeting and make it possible to transfer the token to a new wallet, in connection with such circumstances. They replied that they transferred my request to an employee who is engaged in similar matters. A response letter from a competent person came after 3 days:
    Unfortunately, the bank provided you with incorrect information.
    An old wallet can be tied to a new card only when the old card is
    transferred to the “canceled” status.
    Your old card, according to information received from the bank, is in the
    “canceled” status from XX / XX / 2010.
    Try it, it should work out.

    My joy knew no bounds. Immediately I went to the ATM and after ten minutes I started using the service on my old wallet.

    For all 4 years of active use of the Yandex.Money wallet, I had no problems at all. The current situation was the first and it did not overshadow my impression of the service. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the payment system support staff, and to the Otkritie bank employees to express a big “fi” for ignorance of their own working mechanisms.
