Bina48 - the most humanoid robot in the world

It is very similar to the fact that robotics nevertheless slowly penetrates into our lives, becoming closer to man. Quite a long time ago robots ceased to be just machines that execute a given program for many years. We see how robots-musicians , robots-cosmonauts , robots-waiters and robots, getting beer for their owners , gradually appear . Maybe the future that Isaac Asimov described almost half a century ago is already nearby?

Of course, everything can be, but so far the robots are not as human-like as we would like. In addition, they are still far from conducting a conversation, or at least from performing simple homework. The cost of one more or less functional robot is hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. The same robot-cosmonaut in general "ate" tens of millions.

But let's leave the talk about all kinds of astronauts there. The Terasem Movement Foundation has unveiled “the most humanoid robot,” called Bina48. I don’t know why the "last name" of the robot is a two-digit number, it is unlikely that so many prototypes were created. But Bina 1 is a real woman whose copy of her face is now in front of you (a white woman is not Bina, just an interlocutor).

Interestingly, the robot not only looks like its human sister. No, the real Bina taught the robot for hours how to speak and move as she herself. Yes, you understood correctly, Bina-robot can learn, although not very quickly. The result, in general, is really impressive - here, and facial expressions, and speech, and in general everything is very similar to a person.

Unfortunately, I have to admit that Bina-robot’s ability to maintain a dialogue with the interlocutor is still far from ideal, you can understand this yourself by watching the video. However, all this is really very close to man. It is possible that in five years we will get a robot with arms and legs, and not just a robot head. Indeed, developers have been trying to create an “iron man” for so long that there are real doubts about the success of this business.

We wish Bina to get a body and, no less important, at least some kind of intelligence, so as not to look like a parrot, confused in its own vocabulary. Or, if you do not rely on intelligence, maybe teach Bina how to drink beer? That would be great!

In the meantime, you can watch a video showing the behavior of the robot, its facial expressions and the ability to conduct a conversation.
