Russia is still a country of cash, but the tendency to increase the use of bank cards to make payments is already obvious. Abroad, they have long been accustomed to using plastic. According to the British Council on payment systems (the Payments Council) after 5 years, the amount of cash use will be reduced by half. The forecast, of course, is impressive, but for Europe today this situation does not seem fantastic.
As for our country:
Of the total volume of bank card transactions in 2009, only 11.2% (or 10.6 billion dollars) accounted for transactions to pay for goods and services using cards, and the remaining 88.8% (or 83.6 billion dollars) accounts for cash withdrawals through ATMs. Link

It has become possible to link your card to QIWI Wallet and pay with it the goods and services of many providers available in our payment system.
You can register a card on the website or in the iPhone Application. You can pay by card on the QIWI Wallet website or in Mobile Phone Applications. This option still works for a group of risk-free providers with some restrictions: one card can pay no more than 3,000 rubles a day and no more than 9,000 rubles a month. Please note: QIWI Wallet itself cannot be replenished with a credit card.
Commission, alas ...
So far, for all cards, the commission size is –3% ( but to replenish QIWI Wallet through the terminal up to 500 rubles - the same 3%). And to go somewhere often just too lazy - especially in such a hot weather :)
Cards that can be attached to a QIWI Wallet: VISA (Visa Classic, Visa Gold, Visa Platinum) and MasterCard (MasterCard Mass, MasterCard Gold, MasterCard Platinum).
