Koss The Clef Sports Headphones

This is not the first time that Koss has delighted fans of high-quality sound with sports headphones. But The Clef is not only valuable headphones, but also 3-4 kilograms .. of an accessory.

Even the photo shows that the headphones do not look quite usual. This is just a blister (box), which is their "carapace", and also contains some chips, which I will tell and show about later.

Let's start in order. Packaging does not contain anything remarkable. A rather ascetic black box, in which only headphones and a brief instruction.



Therefore, without dwelling on it, we proceed immediately to the headphones, which personally personally struck me immediately with their unusual design.

But first, a few dry facts, that is, specifications:





Firstly, I’ll say right away that these are headphones for people who lead an active lifestyle. They are engaged in jogging, riding a bicycle, hiking and so on, because, probably, these headphones will not give much comfort to an ordinary ordinary listener at home.

The headphones themselves are white. A little small, although rather, it is simply unusual, since they sit comfortably in the ear, do not fall out and do not interfere. The wire is flat because the headphones fold like a snail into their case. If someone used small mice for laptops, then they probably saw about the same design. You pull the wires in different directions and the coil spins, then you pull a little bit and the wire folds back. Also arranged here.



As for the speakers themselves, their design is open, and I think this is very good, because during active sports you will still hear what is happening around and you can avoid various excesses.

There are no soft ear pads here, and they are not needed. Only the rubber band around the metal mesh speaker.
By the way, they somehow reminded me of standard headphones from Apple.

As I already said, the headphones are hidden in a white blister, which on the one hand acts as a container for convenient storage of The Clef, and on the other hand, it is the fastening of the wire while running. It has special recesses for fixing the headphones, so that everything keeps perfectly.

There are two types of mounting on the box. The first is a carabiner in order to hang, for example, on keys. Listening from such a position would be unrealistic, but quite convenient for transportation. You can also hang it on a backpack and, if the player is in a backpack, it will also be convenient to use them.



And the second - fastening on a belt or on a collar of a shirt, here to whom as it is more convenient. I fastened to the gate, because the wire did not reach the belt. By the way, this is one of the minuses, because 1.2 meters of wire is clearly not enough here and I want it to be at least 2 meters, because if you attach it to the belt, then the length of the wires to the ears is not enough, and if you attach to the gate, then barely enough to reach the player, which lies in your pocket. But still, the blister is a little big, so when it hangs near the neck - not very comfortable.

As you probably already noticed, there is a battery compartment under the clip. But why is she here?
And all because there is a small red flashlight on the bottom of the blister.



Of course, it will not be enough to illuminate the road in the dark forest, but to help yourself in the dark entrance to find the opening of the castle is very much so. Although, in my subjective opinion, this is pampering. But, if you come back late in the evening from a run, then this will be very useful to you.

With such a charming color it burns.



As for the sound, then for such a small model it is quite decent. Of course, you don’t have to expect strong bass here, but the quality is enough to enjoy your favorite songs on vacation. No noise and rattle during playback was not detected (tested on iPod Classic and iriver players). Slightly swallows high notes, but in general, if you don’t listen to opera concerts, then everything suits you.



Liked how Clef sit in the ear. It is almost imperceptible that headphones are worn, both externally and in sensations. Nothing presses and, more importantly, does not fall out. Small and neat.

The price varies in the region of 500-700 rubles. Few or many? You decide. I’ll put this in pluses, because in my opinion, this is an affordable price for headphones of this kind, especially Koss.
