In Russia, it became not profitable to trade Apple computers

The other day, a friend of mine informed me that he was extremely indignant at the recent drop in prices for Apple equipment. I was surprised at his attitude to this great Apple event in Russia and decided to figure out what exactly he was not satisfied with.

It turned out that he was selling Apple technology in one of Russia's million-plus cities, and falling prices had a big impact on his profit. For comparison, he provided me with a table from which it can be seen that his profit from the sale of Mac computers after lowering prices is not inferior to the profit from the sale of ordinary PCs. Let me remind you that in the price lists of Apple distributors in Russia there is a price column called RRP (Recommended Retail Price). Accordingly, the seller does not have the right to sell these goods below RRP prices.

As a result, the retailer lost 40 to 80 percent of its profits from the sale of Apple appliances.

If we take into account the fact that poppies in Russia are sold much harder than similar PCs, then we can conclude that it was simply not profitable for a retailer to trade in Apple's hardware only. Now he will have to either close or expand the assortment in his store with other brands.
