WinKnock utility

A small but useful utility for unix admins. Program WinKnock used for opening and closing the door, which is closed demon knockd. Two versions at once - for Windows and Windows Mobile.

If someone does not know what knock is, then in a nutshell:

Port knocking technology allows you to perform any action on the server, even if all ports on it are closed. In general, you just need to connect to certain ports in a certain sequence that only you know and the actions described by you will be performed on the server. Port knocking implies the presence of a server and client. The server determines all connection attempts and if it detects a certain sequence of connections specified by you, then some actions will be performed on the server, usually adding a rule to the firewall. The client must connect to certain ports and protocols in the specified sequence.

(I took the description from the site http://www.lissyara.su , in detail about installation - in the same place)

    In general, I recommend.

Now about the main- WinKnock. Despite the presence of servers under various UNIX systems, it’s better to live under Windows anyway (this is for me, I don’t need to breed a holivar) and access to servers can be necessary from the most unexpected places. That is why WinKnock was written. Initially, I wrote it only for PocketPC, but it turned out that it was quite convenient to use and a version was born under the “big brother”.

    How to use:
    1. We correct the config in accordance with our needs (if you installed knockd, then guessing the purpose of the lines is not very difficult, especially since the archive contains an example of a ready-made config)
    2. Select the desired host from the drop-down list and click the "Open" button. We use the opened service, for example SSH.
    3. Using it, they clicked the “Close” button and the door is closed again.

Of course free. You can download it here .

PS Softinka wrote for himself, so the functionality and interface are the simplest - just what I needed.
