The most bought models on the Russian Internet, according to data for the fall of 2008, are the cars of the Volga Automobile Plant: the Samara family (2108, 2109, 21099, 2113, 2114, 2115), the 110 family (2110, 2111, 2112) and the Classic (2106, 2107).
The next in the list are already foreign cars: Ford Focus, Volkswagen Passat and Toyota Corolla.
The popularity of certain models depends on the year of manufacture. Choosing an older car, until the year 2003, buyers often give preference to Russian cars. When buying newer cars, foreign cars are chosen.
2. Car specifications
With the help of ads on the Internet they sell mostly used cars. Advertisements for the sale of new cars are found, but, as a rule, these are offers from car dealerships - cars not yet ordered from automakers.
The share of broken cars of any year of manufacture (at least those that are honestly called broken in the announcement of sale) and on Russian sites is less than one percent.

The average characteristics of cars sold (for all ads on automotive sites) and purchased (only for removed ads) differ very little. The difference is only in mileage: the average mileage of cars offered for sale is 100-110 thousand kilometers, and those purchased are 70-80 thousand kilometers.
An average car (both among sold and bought) looks something like this: it is a black or silver sedan of 2005, manufactured in Japan, Russia or Germany. Manual transmission, engine displacement (in decreasing order of popularity) - 1.6, 2 or 1.5 liters.
Older cars - produced in 2004 and earlier - have popular engine sizes - 2.0 and 1.8 liters. Newer ones have 1.6 and 1.4 liters. This can be explained by the fact that in recent years they began to produce cars with lower fuel consumption, while the engine power is higher than that of previous generations of cars.
