Russian Post received a deal for information technology?

Today I accidentally wandered onto the website of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Primorsky Territory (a branch of the FSUE Russian Post) and found there the wonderful news from yesterday - “ The Russian Post was received as a dealer for information technology! " I can not help but comment on this amazing text.
According to the results of participation in the fourth international Asian-Pacific exhibition “Information Technologies and Communications 2009”, the Primorsky branch of FSUE Russian Post received a diploma for participating in the exhibition and contribution to the development of information technologies in the Primorsky Territory. The organizers of the exhibition recognized that Russian Post in the most unique way approached participation in the exhibition.

Do you think that “in a unique way” - that means ultra-modern technologies were demonstrated? Ha! Read on :)
This year, for the first time, the Russian Post exposition worked in the post office mode, where it was possible to use postal services - buy stamps, send a letter, cash out plastic cards.

Well, I understand that “send a letter” is a connection. But where is the information technology? And what is so ingenious to demonstrate sending letters at an exhibition in the 21st century?
Considering that the exhibition was held on the eve of Vladivostok City Day, mailers, in addition to thematic filling of the exhibition stand, took care of spectacular events for visitors. So, crowning the opening of the exhibition, five girls in clothes made of postal supplies — postcards, adhesive tape, paper, nylon tow, entered the exhibition hall, drawing all the attention of the press, organizers, and guests of the exhibition to the Russian Post booth. Such a non-standard solution for the presentation of the stand became an occasion to mark the postal workers with a diploma for their bright participation in the industry exhibition.

HERE !!! Here it is!!! Ahhhhhhhh !!! Keep me five! This is what I understand, information technology!
According to the concept, already after the opening of the exhibition, Russian Post stand specialists began active work with pre-invited guests - they demonstrated the operation of a franking machine capable of processing up to one and a half thousand letters, talked about collective Internet access points, most of which today work in rural Primorye.

We are silent about the Russian language, okay?
It is worth noting that the special attention of the exhibition guests at the Russian Post stand was attracted by unique postcards and envelopes, as well as special cancellation by a festive stamp depicting the coat of arms of Vladivostok, which were specially issued on the eve of Vladivostok Day. “Every year, the exhibition“ Information Technologies and Communications ”is becoming ever more ambitious and interesting. Russian Post is a regular participant in this exhibition: we have been exhibiting here since 2006. The active introduction of modern technologies is a strategic area of activity for Russian Post, so it’s certainly very interesting for us to take part in such an exhibition-forum, ”said Olga Ryzhkova, Deputy Director of UFPS of Primorsky Krai - a branch of FSUE Russian Post.

Envelopes, postcards, stamps - it's all cool, I also studied at school collecting stamps and cards with special cancellation marks. But for this it is not necessary to do points of collective access to the Internet in all departments. Why is it necessary? Probably so that people can take advantage of modern technologies, the introduction of which is a strategic direction. There is, there are modern technologies at the Russian Post, but what about! Right on the home page of this UFPS website, on the left you can find nice pictures with the inscriptions “Class 1 Departures”, “EMS Russian Post”, “CyberPost” and “CyberMoney”. Four links to four modern technologies. But only all of them, alas, lead to a page with the inscription “Error! Such a page does not exist! ”. So what is it? One could at least hang a photograph of five girls in clothes from postal supplies, huh?

PS When I was already completing this note, I became interested in what is “EMS Russian Post”. In order to surely not miss the mark, I went to the main site of the Russian Post - www.russianpost.ru . And what do you think?
