Execution cannot be pardoned. About the system of punishments and re-education in Russia

Recently I talked to one of my friends who ignores most traffic rules. And suddenly, most of them have recently begun to comply. To my question about the reason for this, a direct answer followed: "the fines have been raised, NOW TO BE CHARGED ANYTHING"!

There is a certain type of people who will not be held back before a crime (i.e. violation of established rules, law). He always relies on his “happy thieves star” and goes on a crime without thinking about the future. Usually, in thieves' jargon, they are called "cat" - the indigenous inhabitant of the prison. You won’t scare him with the next imprisonment, but he doesn’t want to work hard from morning till night. Most of the other attackers very well characterize the "bandits" from the film "Operation Y and Shurik's other adventures." Main frame: “burglary, 5 years. Uh, no, that's too much. Hooliganism - up to one year. This is just right! ” It turns out that increasing the punishment for a crime leads to a calmer sleep of citizens.
A few years ago there was a mitigation of punishments. For example, they gave 15 years for rape, now 7. The number of such crimes has increased several times. In some Emirates, for the transport of vodka to the territory of the country threatens with execution. After the adoption of this law, it is impossible to find alcohol in the country for any money. Maybe you should think about increasing the punishment?

Let’s go on the other side. How much is the content of one criminal? You can calculate how much money is allocated for his food and say that it is cheap enough. In fact, for the work of the prison you need overseers (controllers) and sentries who are paid salaries. To prevent prisoners from dying in too large numbers, there are doctors in the prison. Also, a prison cannot do without water and electricity, which means that plumbers and electricians are needed. If you think about it, the prison is "served" by a huge number of people: escorts, cooks, lawyers, computer people, drivers, telephone operators and a huge number of people. Their salary is also included in the cost of keeping prisoners. The prison must be supplied with heat, water, light and repaired, which means costs are increasing and increasing. Money is allocated from the state budget that could go into retirement, medicine, education and science. After killing or robbing a person, the offender goes to jail, and his victims pay for his maintenance. Also, a criminal who has been sent to prison 2 or more times is practically not “amenable to re-education” and will spend his whole life between crimes and prison. Going to jail even for a short period of time blocks the person in the future from working in so many organizations. So, having stumbled once, he will go on a crime and further for food. in the future, a person’s ability to work in so many organizations is blocked. So, having stumbled once, he will go on a crime and further for food. in the future, a person’s ability to work in so many organizations is blocked. So, having stumbled once, he will go on a crime and further for food.

    I offer 2 cardinal solutions:
    1. Increase the time for crimes by 3-5-10 times, which will immediately reduce the number of crimes.
    2. Return the death penalty. Moreover, the death penalty should be given not only to notorious maniacs, but to simple recidivists. If a person chose his life as an outcast, he decided to separate himself from society, then society does not need to contain such a thing. Also introduce the death penalty for serious and especially serious crimes. Now the company of gopniks and bastards will get drunk, abuse the schoolgirl or beat him up to fractures or injuries of a person and get 3-5 years for it. In this case, the victim and his relatives will pay taxes for the maintenance of criminals. Execution for such crimes will cool a lot of hot heads. And those who do not cool the dry lines of the criminal code, those will forever cool the bullets after the trial.
