Is the end of Beltelecom's monopoly close?

Vice Prime Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin said that in 2010 negotiations will begin on the accession of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organization (WTO), while he expressed confidence that Belarus would not become a brake on this path. As you can remember, one of the conditions for Belarus to enter the WTO was demonopolization of the telecommunication market, first of all, the elimination of the monopoly position of RUE Beltelecom. An appropriate bill was even prepared, which was adopted by deputies of the House of Representatives and approved by the Council of the Republic, but rejected at the last moment by the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko.
In view of new developments, there are serious prerequisites to believe that the demonopolization of the telecommunication market is quite possible in the near future. Cross your fingers.
