March 9, 2009 is the next Ubuntu testing day.
In Russia, March 9th is a day off . So immediately after getting sober after the Great Women's Day (tm), do not take the trouble to download a fresh alpha CD with your favorite u / k / xbuntu and carefully study it.
Burn the disc and boot from it on all computers that you have under a friend. Carefully check that all equipment available to you is recognized by the LiveCD and is working correctly.
After that, install the virtualbox-ose package on the working system, then install fresh Ubuntu in it and check if all the features of the programs you use are in place? Do all declared functions work?
Check if all the errors that you came across during the operation of previous versions of the distribution have been fixed.
Carefully write down all the identified shortcomings, create a bug report in Launchpad , or at least write it on the forum in the " Testing Ubuntu " section .
If you are at odds with English, go to the IRC channel # ubuntu-testing and find out if any help is required on your part.
Remember: testing a new distribution is the easiest way to thank the hundreds of people who work on Ubuntu! Even if you do not find anything, it will be great, then the new version of the distribution kit is really ready for release.
