Google plays Twitter

“Guys, we're going offline for the weekend to serve the server. This is a good time to socialize with those you love. ”

Yes, microblogging has established itself as the most unstable services. Once they get a more or less constant audience, how failures begin. But what exactly happened to Jaiku?

It's simple, last year it was bought by Google mega-company. This led to the transition to a new engine - App Engine . From the consequences of this transition and users suffer. Either the translation was unsuccessful, or the engine itself was not adapted to the needs of the service.
The latest version is confirmed by the developers themselves. They were forced to independently expand the App Engine. So, this weekend the service should be restarted on the extended Jaiku team version of the Google App Engine.
Initially, the service worked in Python and did not experience any acute stability problems. We also note that the user base of Yajku is incomparable with Twitter and the nature of the problems for these services is different.

Another thing is surprising: technical problems do not discourage even new microblogging users. So in April and July there was a surge in interest in services of this type, which affected not only Twitter, but also its direct competitors - Jaiku and newcomer Plurk .
