The first truly working mobile television service in Russia

I hasten to share the test results of the new mmTV service .

Briefly - this is a mobile television service. A program is installed on a mobile phone (in my case, Nokia e90 and a program for Symbian), which gives access to a dozen free channels. Paid channels are connected at prices of several dollars for a monthly subscription, there is porn :) Accordingly, there is the possibility of buying video and audio (on-demand), when you pay for a specific video and download it to your phone, while the video is downloaded and viewed by the program itself that levels the usefulness of this function.

The most important thing is traffic. Depending on the phone, you will pay for Internet or WAP traffic (depending on which connection you have established). Happy owners of iMobile and WiFi-enabled handsets can simply watch the broadcast via WiFi.

Channels are available for viewing in three quality categories. Frankly, even “good” quality sucks compared to the usual video: the picture is grainy, when buffering the nipples (yeah, they tested the ones on the Private channel) they are covered with squares :) The quality, apparently, differs only in sound - since a lot is available music channels, perhaps this is a really important factor.

So, the testing was conducted on the Private channel through the Beeline operator and the Nokia e90 handset for 5 minutes.
When connecting via WiFi, the broadcast of mobile television did not cause any complaints. Accordingly, not a penny was paid for the traffic either.
When connected via EDGE as "low" for 5 minutes, the picture stopped 5 times (buffering), GPRS / EDGE traffic was eaten about 3.7 Mb.

Total: an hour of watching mobile television will cost you 310 rubles.

In my opinion, this is quite a normal figure, given that mobility has never been cheap.

By the way, live broadcasts of all matches of EURO 2008 are available. This is a plus.
