TopCoder Open 2008

    The winner of TopCoder Open Algorithm for the third time was tomek (Tomasz Czajka, Poland). In second place is Petr (Pyotr Mitrichev, Russia, Moscow State University), in third is Eryx (Eryk Kopczynski, Poland). Burunduk1 (Sergey Kopeliovich, Russia, St. Petersburg State University) took 5th place, andrewzta (Andrey Stankevich, Russia, St. Petersburg State University ITMO) and vlad89 among those who divided 6-9 places.

    Three Russian participants, two Polish, and one each from Ukraine, China, Australia, Indonesia, and Sweden reached the finals of the TopCoder Open 2008 Algorithm.

    Interesting facts about TopCoder Open.

    In general, the final was very stressful.

    For example - With 20s left, Petr gets a third challenge to take the lead.
    But 5s later tomek gets a successful challenge also, moving back into the lead! Real last-second excitement, the crowd was really making some noise.
