Yandex's new step in the fight against sales links

    Today on Yandex there was a rather strange update. Many sites have lost 10 positions. In this situation, 2 main theories are likely: a change of algorithm or another malfunction of Yandex (for example, part of the anchor base could fall off). Oil on fire was poured by Yandex's promise to launch a new Magadan algorithm in mid-March.

    Clarifies the picture appeared a bit last night in the blog "Yandeks.Poisk" record "about the relationship to SEO Yandex-links" (for those who do not know, this blog are Yandex developers).

    The following conclusions can be drawn from the record itself and the comments on it:
    1. The algorithm has really changed. Introduced new link filters or improved old ones.
    2. This is not Magadan yet. The most interesting is yet to come.
    3. Quite severe sanctions have been applied (or will be applied soon) to sites selling links.

    According to my first impressions, the following trends were outlined:
    1. Sites that are actively using Sapu to promote
    2. Strengthened the position of "old" sites, to which many "old" links
    3. In the top ten of the issuance, there were more internal pages


    My personal opinion about the quality of the new issue: the quality as a whole has deteriorated.

    On low-frequency queries, sales links often helped Yandex a lot. Yandex’s text analysis algorithm is still far behind Google’s, and links with direct quoting of various query formulations (arranged by conscientious optimizers, not doorway developers) served as a good help. Now most of these links are filtered.

    On high-frequency queries, in some places the changes are positive, for example, the top three hit everyone's favorite Searchengines.ru for queries "site optimization", "search engine optimization", etc. In general, non-profit sites got a chance to rise on commercial requests. This makes me happy.
