Is CSS validation really necessary?

I asked myself the question: is CSS validation necessary to such an extent that at the same time save on cross-browser? Validation is cool and authoritative, but where will this authority be then, if on one of the browsers what needs to be pulled (be they not okay), the site will suddenly show crookedly.
