Facebook licenses engine: hit Google OpenSocial

Yesterday, Facebook announced plans to expand its social network to partner sites. Within the framework of the program, friendly projects can license the Facebook engine and, in fact, connect their users to this social network, which is turning into a global one.

The first project to connect to Facebook will be the largest social network in the UK and one of the largest English-language networks in the world Bebo .

The meaning of these movements is quite obvious. It’s enough to recall that a month ago, during the announcement of Google OpenSocial, the absence of Facebook among the participants in this project was most striking. It is clear that one of the most promising and technologically advanced networks wants to create movement around itself.

Facebook opened its programming interfaces to developers in August 2006. With the opening of the Facebook Platform, relationships with partner sites are taking a whole new level. All technical details can be found on the specifications page .
