What is it? A new tool from the arsenal of spammers?

moephoto2.jpgYesterday I received an email with the subject “moephoto2” from [email protected] with the name “F A” in the mail (account on mail.ru). The weight of the letter (827Kb) indicated that the letter really had a picture (on the left). Moreover. In the letter there was a picture in full resolution with the same name moephoto2.jpg.

First thought - they made a mistake and mixed up the address. The second thought - let me check who it is. Usually with this question I turn to Google or Yandex. The latter issued a link to the Question and Answer section of a certain site with a question about “front struts / springs on Nissan Primera” and the name Alex.
It’s unlikely that the girl in the photo is called Alex, and especially since he is a crazy anime fan =) Although that doesn’t happen. On the other hand, what does this have to do with me?

Well, in the end it turned out that the commentary on the photo reads: "CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 80".

This reinforced my suspicions that the letter can be safely sent to nonexistence. There is only one question left: why is all this necessary? There was only one assumption that this way the collection of "live" email addresses is performed. There was no particular desire to check the assumption of desire.

Has anyone gotten that thread like that? What are some other suggestions as to what it is?

PS Girl, if suddenly you recognize yourself in a photograph, don’t worry, now you are on the Internet, now you are famous =)
