Creating the Dell Inspiron 14 (5482) case, engineers tried to make it both economical, practical and modern. In our opinion, we managed to cope with the task. The main material, of course, was plastic, but its quality is unlikely to disappoint anyone. It is dense and, most importantly, matte: on a gray laptop, fingerprints are only barely noticeable, but on the silver case they are hardly visible at all.
The lid of the laptop when folded slightly bends down from pressing, however it is unlikely to cause any discomfort during operation. The Inspiron 14 operating panel is further reinforced with a metal plate. And it will be difficult to bend it to a noticeable depth during printing, even if someone in the chat is very angry with you and you click on them with obvious effort.
The case of the device is wedge-shaped, the thickness is not record, but absolutely moderate: a little less than 2 centimeters at the base with hinges.
The hinges, of course, are metal, just outside they are covered with plastic inserts made in the same style as on more expensive Dell devices. They even look outwardly like metal until you touch them with your hands.

Actual indicators for transmitting and receiving data in tests reach marks in the range from 600 to 700 megabits per second, so a very good groundwork for the future is guaranteed in this regard.
A couple of nice words can be added about the sound. Of course, no one will expect from a laptop, especially from an average price category, the quality of the audio level of a home theater. And, at the same time, the stereo speakers are loud and quite high-quality, the Waves MaxxAudio software “improver” is also supported at the hardware level. The result is significantly more pleasant than average sound by the standards of this class of devices. Music is a separate story, but watching TV shows at home with such a laptop in hand, on a pedestal next to it, or even on a belly (a transformer after all!) Is very pleasant.

If necessary, you can interact with your computer with your fingers or with the Dell Active Pen or, what’s really worth it, similar solutions from other manufacturers.
