Big brother - we collect a combat robot in the garage

There are 16 days left before the Bronotbot 2016 robot battles at the Olympic . Big Brother - the second team of participants, has almost finished his robot and considers it a serious bid to win.

The team members are sharply divided into two age groups, two participants each 33 years old - Dmitry Diamondmoto83 Eliseev and Andrey Taktashov and their two sons 5 and 8 years old - Arthur and Dima. There is also an irregular member of the team - the golden peasant Mishan, on such peasants the country stands Dima and Andrei. In the photo he can be seen in the center in characteristic outfit, as in the team he is busy with the most important task - welding.



At the invitation of Dmitry, I drove into their workshop in an impressive factory floor on Dubrovka.



This workshop was created by Andrei for many years, he bought up old machines, repaired them. When he got a job here, in this building there was only a crane-beam, it was generally some kind of warehouse. But Andrei doesn’t have a holy place and he began to slowly assemble this workshop, which helps him by the way and at work, to finish the jambs of suppliers.



Dmitry is initially a fan of all kinds of circuits and electronic projects, Andryukha loves iron - machine tools and tools. It is not surprising that the guys quickly found the intersection point and have known each other for a long time. Our company Robomow has been engaged in robotic lawn mowers for 4 years already, together we are sawing robots with Israel, so to speak we optimize it for Russian sites. But it brought us in - there was an offer from Glory webzuweb Golitsin to take part in the Armored Boat. Well, we willingly agreed. As a result, Slavik left the team and we do everything ourselves.

Now a description of the RAKE robot (Rake).



This time we did not pursue beauty, but the robustness of the robot was needed. Well, they also did not want to engage in plagiarism. So he came up with this concept - the robot can be turned over, thrown up and nothing will happen to it.

It moves on two engines of 500 watts, is controlled by cunning controllers, made independently, the remote control was purchased in pilotage. We use 36 volts to power the motors, because of which we were able to reduce peak currents - we wanted to use it higher, but the regulation does not allow us to use higher than 36 volts. Plus we have double reduction!



The hull is a truss made of steel and titanium. We cooked it from the calculation of direct blows of Thor - if she can withstand it, she can withstand anything.



Weapon type "Rake" - two "arms" on the sides, and between them a jumper, on which there are sharp wedges. For weapons, a separate engine is 800 watts, also a double reduction. A weapon can sharply beat or gently clamp an opponent, for example, to transfer it to another part of the ring or to throw it into a trap. All of this is powered by separate li-fe batteries or gel batteries - until we have decided, and that and that is.

Impact force has not yet been measured but should be about 100 kg or more.



Hammer hands made it from aviation aluminum from colleagues at the factory. Rather, they did it and we designed it, since we are all friends, the guys decided to give us details for free when we found out that he was for a combat robot, they only paid for the material - man-hours are absolutely free - we have a robotics union. Therefore, we are not opposed to placing some advertising on the robot for the Moscow plant of mechatronic products, look what a beauty:



With all this, the main plug is of course the weight of the robot, it always imposes restrictions and difficulties in the choice of materials. Well, lack of time - everything else is from it. The last time we faced an advantage when we made a big brother there were 160 kilos - we used steel and forgot to weigh the robot. This taught us a lot, and now we use mainly noble metals - save Misha for this.



We hope to properly light up the battles themselves and give a fitting rebuff to the champions of the English League of Robotics. But to be honest, we are primarily doing this for the sake of our sons. In order to instill in them a feeling of love for radio business, mechanics ... just to have them do something with their own hands, in short we teach them to be peasants, and secondly, it is just fun and funny, and this is the future.
