Measuring the benefits or harms of products

Every day there are more and more adherents of a healthy lifestyle (HLS). The range of smart devices is quite large: from fitness bracelets to smart insoles.

When buying products in a store, I often thought about the benefits or dangers of this or that fruit or vegetable. After all, everyone knows that eating fruits is very useful. They have many vitamins and nutrients, they strengthen the immune system and help the body better resist viral diseases and colds. But on the other hand, it is also known that to increase yield and profit, growth and maturation are stimulated by a large amount of fertilizer. And this already makes food not so useful, and maybe even harmful.

There are many tips on the Internet how to choose fruits and vegetables:
    • Buy products in their ripening season
    • Do not choose too beautiful and shiny
    • Better to take from local manufacturers
    • etc.

It turns out in our age of technological progress have come up with yet another way to determine the quality of fruits and vegetables. This is a gadget from the company Soeks - Ecotester2.
On the device’s page there is even a video with Zhirinovsky in which he offers to check all imported products using this device.

    What this device can do:
    • Measure the amount of nitrate
    • Measure radiation

Let's start by unpacking. Plain cardboard box.

Inside lies the Ecotester2 device itself, instructions and a set of AAA batteries, which were enough for about two weeks of active use of the device. Then I replaced it with batteries, so it turned out to be much more convenient.

What can they measure for the presence of nitrates: fruits, vegetables, baby food.
Radiation can be measured in your home, mushrooms, berries, old things.

The first two weeks with this device I measured everything that came into my hands. Below are some photos with comments.

I was very surprised by the results of measuring baby food. I bought the cheapest.

I bought a little more expensive, but the result was even worse.

Checked on homemade apples - the norm.

    Store apples are seasonal.

Beets from the garden are also normal.

But home potatoes, which were planted with fertilizers showed a slight excess of nitrates.

But store potatoes are even higher than the level of nitrates.

    Carrots from the store.

I always thought that long cucumbers were not easy so long they stuffed a lot of them . It turned out I was wrong.

Not all bananas are equally healthy.

Grapes should also be selected more carefully.

Persimmon and tangerines, despite all their goodies, are also better not to abuse.

I almost forgot, Ecotester2 still knows how to determine the level of radiation. How much I did not measure it, I never could not find an excess of radiation.

Here , beliakovwrites that there is little radiation from bananas. There is a change in radiation, but very insignificant.

Heaps in Solikamsk. Always thought she was radioactive. Although maybe I just stood far from them.

A bit of theory. According to WHO standards, an acceptable daily dose of nitrates for a person is 5 mg per kilogram of his weight. With an average weight of 70 kg, a “permissible daily maximum” of 350 mg is obtained.
From this we conclude: if the product contains excess nitrates, then a smaller amount can be eaten. And the second point: if there is an excess of nitrates in the product, then maybe there is still an excess of something in it.

    Conclusion
The device may be useful to mothers who care about what their children eat. People who care about their health.
With a dosimeter, you can check the radioactive background of the room, the building materials used.

    What did you like:
    • Simple and intuitive interface
    • Russian-made device
    • Compact (fits easily in the bag)

    What did not like:
    • You cannot update the firmware yourself. Suddenly, in the new firmware the list of products will increase.
    • The list of products must be supplemented. You can measure tangerines, but oranges are not in the list of products.
    • I woke up at night from a quiet squeak. For a long time I could not understand where the sound was coming from. It turned out that this is the Ecotester, without worrying about the fact that it was turned off (apparently it signaled that the batteries were dead). He took out the batteries - the sound stopped. Put new ones - earned as it should.
