Auction from Huawei: cheating?
In short.
On the website Huawei.ru (Official Online Store, Huawei Techcompany LLC), the company holds a three-day campaign from December 8 to 11.
This is an auction, on the contrary, it lasts three days. The winner is the participant who offered the lowest price for the device, while no other participant offered the same price. The minimum bid is 500 rubles. The proposed price may include a penny, but not more than two decimal places. The company sends the winner an email code that allows you to purchase a phone for a price that is a winning one.
The action is held twice a day.
More details:
I went to the action page somewhere at 5 pm, read the terms of the action.
The previous winner (morning stock) won the phone for 500.05 rubles.
Made a bet. In an hour, the number of players doubled and reached approximately 9800. In general, I was wondering what number would win. I figured that all numbers between 500 and 502 should have been busy, and somewhere from 503 is already more likely to win.
The most interesting thing is that the bet won 500.000001 rubles. Despite the fact that "the proposed price may include rubles and kopecks (no more than two decimal places)."
Screen a few seconds after the end of the auction:
Two minutes later, the list of winners disappeared:
I would like to know how it happened that a bet was won, which in theory could not be made? And where did everything disappear instantly? I would like to know your feedback about the auction.
UPD:
In the morning, the bet at 500.00 was listed as the winning one. The bet belonged to a friend, but no email came to her (checked in the evening).
At the time of December 9, at 23:06, the winner of this auction was announced Afternoonbla****@yandex.ru with a bid of 513.75 rubles. Interestingly, the figure is larger than at other auctions:
It turns out that absolutely all numbers in the range from 500.00 to 513.74 were either busy 2 or more times, or were not busy at all. There is no other option.
I'm not talking about numbers> 513.75, they could be any.
What is the likelihood of such an outcome, provided that there were approximately 9800 participants? And provided that the majority of participants (say, 80%) bet on numbers from 500.00 to 510.00? (They took into account that the previous winning bid was 500.05)
But in general, the problem with the number was solved, most likely the winner was correctly appointed. I will be glad if any winner of the action responds.
PS The bet 500.000001 was simply sent manually, commentators suggest.
