The largest communication company held a closed presentation of the project and announced that it was distribution that would become the company's main focus for the next couple of years.
So far, Mail.ru Group, Datcroft, Destiny Development and Alawar are partners, but the list will expand. Partners receive 50% of the profit from the game "after paying all the commissions." For posting games on the portal, the developer must pay 3000 rubles.
The services of Rostelecom are used by more than 100 million residents of Russia. The telecom operator intends to actively promote the new service among its users, but the potential audience of the game portal is not limited to them.
“Our dream is the ability of the user to continue the game on any device. Our task is to cover all platforms, ” said Alexei Sadonov, head of the Rostelecom’s gaming business at the presentation.
The key catalog contains titles such as Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, World of Warcraft, as well as simpler games of different genres. A Steam-style Windows game client for Windows was launched at the same time as the website. You can buy games directly from the client. By the way, company representatives hinted that they were quite capable of replacing Steam for Russian users.
“The success of the project will be to build a full-fledged ecosystem - an environment that unites the audience, content, distribution system,” said Alexey Basov, vice president of Rostelecom. - We want to accumulate an audience and offer it exclusive products. Some will be this year. ” Basov also noted that more than a third of Russians are addicted to online games.
