On power, either good or nothing: a new legislative initiative in the Russian Federation

If you have already managed to fumble with language with disgust, reading the news about legislative initiatives in Australia, then return to your homeland, where new amendments to the legislation have been submitted for consideration, which will finally help you to understand what you can say about the authorities on the Internet and what cannot be

So ... (oh, okay, the title is clear).

Senator Andrei Klishas, who is concurrently chairman of the committee of the Federation Council on constitutional legislation, put forward two bills for consideration, aimed at tightening censorship in the country.

The first of these is the addition to art. 13.15 of the Administrative Code (abuse of freedom of the media), which protects us from "deliberately unreliable socially significant information disseminated under the guise of reliable messages." Conditions for punishment: "creating a threat to life and (or) the health of citizens, a massive violation of public order and (or) public safety, the cessation of the functioning of life-support facilities, transport or social infrastructure." The cost of pleasure: from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles. for individuals, for officials - from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, for legal entities - from 400 thousand to 1 million rubles.

The second, even more interesting: it is an amendment to Art. 15 of the Federal Law "On Information". This initiative gives the Prosecutor General the opportunity, through Roskomnadzor, to demand limited access to resources that distribute materials expressing indecent disrespect for society, the state, official state symbols, the Constitution and state authorities. The very publication of such materials will be equated to petty hooliganism under the administrative code, and will be punished with a fine from 1 thousand to 5 thousand rubles. or administrative arrest for up to 15 days.

By the way, Andrei Klishas has something to sharpen a tooth on the net - in 2014 he came to the attention of the Anti-Corruption Foundation of Alexei Navalny, who found over 400 m2 of undeclared land in Switzerland in Klishas. Klishas is also included in all the sanction lists for active support of the annexation of the Crimea.
