Android co-founder returns with new project

According to Business Insider, Andy Rubin, who co-founded Android and has been its president for a long time - until the latter was absorbed by Google and became a key component of the good corporation’s business - plans to return to the smartphone market again .

There was information that Andy Rubin was opening his own company, and he is currently recruiting people to his team. However, it is not yet clear whether Rubin personally plans to lead the future enterprise, or whether he will simply finance the company. Nevertheless, for both Andy and the public it is clear that the Android phone market is very promising, both in terms of innovation and in terms of profit. Say what you like, but the popularity of the Android platform is very high.

Even Steve Ballmer, a former Microsoft CEO and shareholder, is of the opinion that Windows 10 Mobile devices should work with Android applications. Therefore, he was one of those who spoke in support of the now suspended Project Astoria project - which was aimed specifically at ensuring that Windows devices could work with Android.

The new company, Andy Rubin, will receive funding through the Playground Fund incubator, which was founded by Andy this year after he finally bid farewell to Google in the fall of 2014. The Playground Fund has raised $ 300 million that is being invested in the development of artificial intelligence technologies and the development of smart home companies. Rubin is also a partner of another venture firm, Redpoint Ventures. In any case, whatever Mr. Andy Rubin’s plans are, they are most likely quite ambitious, and perhaps in the future his new company will grow into one of the IT titans and will be able to compete for a market share with modern giants such as Google and Apple .
