Social networks and messengers are the leaders in traffic in the Russian Federation

Now social networks and instant messengers have already bypassed the traffic of conventional resources and Internet search engines. So, mobile Internet users most often communicate in social networks, instant messengers, devoting less time to visiting other resources or searching for information on the Web, Vedomosti writes. According to MTS, in the first half of 2015, the share of social networks and instant messengers in the total amount of mobile traffic of the operator amounted to 23%, instead of 20% a year earlier. At the same time, browsing other Internet pages and searching account for about 17% of the traffic compared to 20% for the same period of 2014. Online video and music accounted for about 36% of traffic in the first half of the year, while a year earlier this figure was only 32%. Interestingly, the attendance of torrent resources is now decreasing, as users switch to online content.
