Forbes publisher will sell its media in Russia

    Axel Springer Media Holding is about to leave the Russian market. So, in the near future, part of the holding’s assets will be sold to the owner of Artcom Media Group, Alexander Fedotov, writes RBC. Moreover, the deal is already in the final stage. Fedotov will be sold about 80% of Axel Spronger Russia. Another 20% can get the current CEO of the company Regina von Fleming. All negotiations on the sale of Russian assets were conducted on behalf of Regina von Fleming.

    It is worth noting that in addition to Alexander Fedotov, an application for the acquisition of Azel Springer assets in Russia was filed by businessman Grigory Berezkin, who owns the ESN group and is the publisher of the Metro newspaper in Moscow. The Kommersant newspaper indicated as one of the bidders for the assets of Ruben Vardyanian, a partner of the company Vardyanian, Breitman and Partners.

    Now Axel Springer Russia publishes the magazines Forbes, OK !, GEO, GEO Traveler, GEOlenok, Gala Biography, Almost all of these media have a large audience. So, the average audience of one Forbes issue in March-July 2015 was about 1.5 million people. Geo has 1.25 million, OK! - 585 thousand people. The total audience for the week was about 3 million people, - 0.5 million, - 0.3 million (TNS, all of Russia, from 12 to 64 years old).

    According to the results of 2014, the revenue of Axel Springer Russia CJSC reached 872 million rubles, net loss - 155 million rubles. The revenue of the global media holding last year amounted to about 3 billion euros, with a net profit of 251 million euros.
