Russian IT companies have created Russia's first platform for data centers

The largest Russian IT companies IBS , Depo Computers , Parallels and Naumen created the platform for Skala-R data centers. They expect an increase in demand for such developments in connection with the software import substitution program. Skala-R is Russia's first converged computing platform. It includes physical and virtual hardware, providing a combination of servers and software. The platform consists of Russian-made components. The platform price is 40% lower than its foreign counterparts and amounts to 7-10 million rubles.

The number of server modules can be changed depending on the expected system load. Elements of the platform are already used in the services of the electronic government of Kazakhstan and Russian energy companies.
About 60 million rubles were invested in the development. Most of this amount invested, IBS, reports RBC.

“Over the past few years, there has been a growing demand among our customers not just for disparate equipment - servers, storage systems, switches, but for complex systems designed to solve specific customer problems,” said Sergey Eskin, President of DEPO Computers.

The competitive advantages of converged infrastructure are easy scalability and support for access to all components from a single source.

In April of this year, a software import substitution plan was approved . By 2025, the share of product imports in the segments of information security software and management tools for cloud infrastructure and virtualization should be reduced from 60% to 40% and from 93% to 50%, respectively.

Security of the Skala-R platform is provided by Russian companies such as InfoWatch Natalia Kaspersky, Acronis (in terms of backup), NPO Echelon , Positive Technologies , as well as MFI Soft products (in terms of database protection). Virtualization solutions are provided by Parallels.

According to IDC, in 2015 the global market for converged systems will increase to $ 10.2 billion, and by 2018 - up to $ 14.3 billion.

IBS Group has been operating since 1994. Her main areas of work are software development, implementation of business applications and IT outsourcing. IBS customers are Rosatom, Gazprom, Aeroflot, Sberbank, VTB24, the Federal Tax Service, Rosavtodor and others.
