According to IDC, in the first quarter of 2015, there was a decrease in the supply of personal computers to Russia by 44%. PC manufacturers are now trying to predict further market behavior, Kommersant writes . At the same time, the PC market has been declining for more than two years in a row. In the first quarter of 2015, the volume of deliveries of personal computers to Russia fell immediately by 43.6% to 1 million units. Supplies of desktop PCs fell by 35.8%, laptops - by 48.9%.
Previously, major players expected the first quarter of 2015 to be the hardest in recent years. The main problem is the unstable economic situation and the depreciation of the ruble against the dollar. “The PC market in Russia is still shrinking, which is a consequence of many factors, including stagnation in demand, saturation of the market and the depreciation of the national currency,” commented IDC senior analyst Natalya Vinogradova.
Now the most prominent player in the PC market is Lenovo (22.2% of all shipped computers). At the same time, digging was even able to increase market share compared to last year. In second place is Hewlett-Packard, which delivered 16.8% of computers to Russia. Acer occupies the third position with 10.5%.
According to the leadership of Lenovo, the personal computer market in Russia will gradually recover. At the same time, a slowdown in deliveries is expected in the second and third quarter. But in the fourth quarter, subject to the stability of the ruble, PC shipments to Russia will return to the level of the fourth quarter of 2014.
