Widget statistics

Lijit tracked the sites on which their widget was installed (Wijit) and provided some very interesting statistics on the widgets used.

These statistics are based on monitoring 8552 blogs with the installed Lijit widget, made from April 11 to 15, 2007. Both visible and invisible widgets (for example, Google Analytics) were involved in the statistics, but widgets containing only graphics (for example, subscriber counters Feedburner or LinkedIn user cards) were excluded from the review. Also, widgets that are automatically added by blog platforms such as Blogger or Typepad were not taken into account.

Despite the fact that an insignificantly small number of blogs were tracked, certain conclusions can be made - it’s more interesting for bloggers to know who visits their site, rather than making money on a blog.

And the most popular are widgets from Google: the first place goes to the Google Analytics widget, and the second to Google AdSense.
