MDK platform enters the Russian market

The history of the development of instant messaging technologies, originating in the last century and replete with fascinating stories about breakthrough discoveries, steep ups and sharp falls, continues. In August, a new communication platform MDK (Messenger Development Kit) was introduced in Moscow for creating instant messengers on the principle of a white label. Recently, statements such as “Messengers have taken over the world” have been increasingly heard. Indeed, instant messengers occupy the first lines of rating lists of mobile applications in almost all parts of the world. The ability to instantly send a text message, sticker, photo or video to colleagues and friends is virtually every smartphone owner. If some time ago the main platform for communication (both personal and professional) and the exchange of information were social networks, Now there is a clear tendency to move to instant messengers. The list of interesting ideas that expand the already pretty list of features of IM applications continues to be replenished with successful projects: for example, Telegram allows you to exchange encrypted messages, FireChat can send messages without the Internet at all.

In the conditions of fierce competition of favorite messengers (like WatsApp, WeChat, FB-Messenger, Viber, etc.), a new brand has appeared on the world stage and in the Russian IT market. This is by no means a messenger, it is something more - a platform for creating instant messengers of any format using the latest developments and unique technologies. The German company MDK (Messenger Development Kit), a development team from Tourmaline Labs (USA) and the Russian company 3data announced the completion of the testing phase of the infrastructure for creating instant messengers based on the white label principle. The MDK communication platform is primarily focused on creating corporate messengers for large companies and government organizations of any profile, which, in addition to transmitting a variety of content - video, audio, text,

The problem of creating a good messenger suitable for all corporate tasks is complicated by the fact that even two companies of the same scale working in the same field do not and by definition cannot have two identical business models, and therefore, the same tools to achieve your business goals. So, a messenger for a government agency needs reliable protection, financiers will necessarily have to add maximum reliability and stability of communications to data protection, and a medical messenger will also require mandatory anonymity in order to maintain medical confidentiality. For a logistics company, mobile integration with the ability to make operational changes to plans and send alerts to customers will be in first place, and the restaurant business will be glad of the possibility of sending advertising and an updated menu to mobile clients within a certain radius from one of the network's establishments. For higher education, the most important may be a deep interactive dialogue between professors and students with the possibility of sending educational materials in any convenient format, and for online schools and courses, a mobile messenger application with an integrated form of payment for each lesson.

Brilliant loners who created masterpieces in their garages in the era of the "Wild West" messengers simply can not cope with today's task of such complexity. However, even an excellent team of well-coordinated programmers will have to spend a lot of time creating an ideal version of the messenger that is perfectly tuned for the tasks of a particular company. And the money that not every customer has.

The creators of the MDK (Messenger Development Kit) successfully solved all these problems by developing a communication platform for creating an instant messenger for context-sensitive multifunctional applications with exactly the set of capabilities that a specific customer needs at a specific stage of his company's development with unlimited ability to integrate all the necessary and used third-party services.

All the tools necessary for the implementation of the most daring large-scale projects are already embedded in the platform's potential, so the customer has nothing to do - show an unlimited flight of imagination at the stage of setting the task, plus come up with an original name for his fully customized messenger. The messenger platform, flexibly scalable to the needs of even the largest organizations, has a high-quality data processing infrastructure with its encrypted transmission and storage. Thanks to the use of the MSQL protocol, low power consumption is embedded in the MDK functionality. In addition to the secure storage of data in the cloud, the platform can also be installed directly on customer equipment in its data center. User’s personal data can be stored in the cloud of the platform’s provider, and directly on the customer’s own servers. One of the most important features of the platform is the ability to determine locations for storing users' personal data, due to which local legislation is respected.

The huge potential of the MDK platform, which allows providing multi-channel secure messaging for the needs of almost any company and organization, is embedded in its flexible architecture, developed with the ability to integrate data from external sources and content providers. Users can access deep profile settings, the integration of multi-functional corporate mobile and context-sensitive applications, as well as any third-party media services and social networks - from ICQ to YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp, with the ability to collect and analyze user statistics.

Already in the basic set of MDK functions there is full compatibility with all today's platforms and operating systems, support for the exchange of audio (including VoIP), video, graphic or text messages among individual users or user groups, the ability to conduct subscriber chats and video conferences and make payments .

If necessary, using the ContextKit context identifier and mega-geofencing technology included in the kit, the MDK-based messenger can be configured for advanced control and monitoring capabilities of personnel and facilities. So, a location service that constantly monitors geolocation data will provide analytics processing based on the location history of users. Geofencing will provide data collection and tracking information about the movement of objects in local zones with a radius specified by the user, as well as with sampling according to various parameters. Due to the accumulation of data on the duration of events, locations, type of tasks, start and end time for their completion, you can set up constant monitoring of tasks in real time, while simultaneously determining the distance of users from each other,

Location services fully support geotagging and sending push notifications about messages and upcoming events, thus facilitating scheduling of the schedule for both individual contacts and user groups. The messenger can be configured to automatically operate the voice recognition service, translate audio messages into text and into another language using the same Google Translate, as well as transfer and receive money through third-party payment services such as Google Wallet and PayPal.

From a technical point of view, creating a flexibly customizable platform for a universal and highly scalable messenger is not an easy task, feasible for not every team. In the case of MDK Labs, which was established in 2015 in Berlin, two key factors most likely played a role. The first is the initially high ambitious bar for creating an ultramodern universal product in the corporate messenger market, and the second factor is an international team of world experts with deep specialization in each affected industry - from communications and security to the TIME industry, online payments and e-commerce.

Active testing of the platform over the past six months has been carried out in North America, Europe and Russia. On the Russian side, testing of the MDK platform was carried out by 3data, which owns the necessary rights and licenses to represent the product on the Russian market.

The new platform, accumulating all the latest technical developments and allowing integrating any third-party applications and services, will allow Russian and international companies wishing to create a corporate messenger from scratch or looking for the opportunity to modernize an already working means of dialogue communication, not only use all modern communication capabilities, but also make their most effective.
