Color variety from Nissan

By 2010, Nissan is going to start production of cars with a special polymer coating, which will allow you to change the color of the car with just the touch of a button.

The secret of the new technology is to use a polymer containing paramagnetic particles of iron oxide as a coating. Under the influence of electric current, oxide crystals can change their location, which, in turn, changes their ability to reflect light and, as a result, allows you to change colors.

Without the influence of current, however, a machine with such a polymer coating will be simply white. It is also not known how much a similar approach to painting a car affects their total cost. But the idea itself is quite and interesting and deserves commercial implementation.
