VTune Profiler[2][3][4][5] (formerly VTune Amplifier ) is a performance analysis tool for x86-based machines running Linux or Microsoft Windows operating systems. Many features work on both Intel and AMD hardware, but the advanced hardware-based sampling features require an Intel-manufactured CPU.
Resume data collection. VTuneTM Amplifier XE resumes collecting all data. Set thread name using char or Unicode string, where name is the thread name. Indicate that this thread should be ignored from analysis. It will not affect the concurrency of the application. It will not be visible in the Timeline pane.
To profile an application with VTune Amplifier , special kernel modules need to be loaded. The modules are not loaded on the login nodes, thus direct profiling on login nodes is not possible. By default, the kernel modules are not loaded on compute nodes either.
