Announced the world's first curved Full HD monitor Samsung SD590C
Good afternoon, Habr!
The other day, Samsung announced the release of the world's first curved Full HD monitor - the SD590C model will appear on the Russian market in September.

Samsung SD590C has Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and a large diagonal of 27 inches with an aspect ratio of 16: 9. The curved shape of the monitor is designed to eliminate distortion at the edges of the screen and makes it possible to see the whole picture, even at close range. The display will serve not only entertainment purposes, but should also simplify the daily tasks of representatives of those professions where you need to work with large amounts of visual or textual information, for example, Excel spreadsheets or monitoring services: a bend radius of 4000 mm allows you to cover at a glance a larger desktop space, which means that it will be easier for the user to process operational data. The viewing angle is already traditional for high-quality screens 178 degrees.
Samsung's new product is based on a high-quality VA-matrix, supports 16.7 million colors, has a contrast ratio of 3000: 1 and provides a brightness of 300 cd / m2. Thanks to the use of Samsung MagicBright technology, the monitor will provide a contrast and rich image in any lighting conditions. This function allows you to adjust the optimal levels of brightness and contrast using a set of preset modes, and also makes it possible to set arbitrary brightness values in any single area of the screen. Gamers will undoubtedly appreciate the Game Mode - when you turn on this mode, the monitor automatically adjusts and optimizes the color settings of the monitor directly for the content currently being played. The response time of the matrix is 8 ms.
Samsung SD590C has two built-in speakers with a power of 5 watts each. In addition, the monitor is equipped with built-in HDMI, DisplayPort and D-Sub interfaces, which allows you to directly connect digital audio and video devices to it, and of course the PC itself. Ergonomic display stand provides tilt from 2 to 20 degrees. The monitor is also equipped with a 100x100 mm VESA mount - hang on the wall if you like.
Most likely, the monitor will go on retail sale in Russia in early September. Price remains unknown.
