Zeus botnet accidentally hits Amazon EC2
Security experts have identified the Zeus botnet command center on EC2 servers. It was discovered when numerous Zeus bots began to actively connect to the Amazon cloud.

This is the first time that a botnet has managed to infiltrate popular hosting servers. As the investigation showed , Zeus fell into the cloud through one of the sites that is hosted there. Hackers seized the password to the admin panel of this site. Apparently, they did not set the initial goal of introducing themselves on EC2, it just turned out unsuccessfully. In theory, such requests should be easily filtered by the security system, so the command center was quickly covered up.
