The Linux Foundation and EdX Launch a Free Introduction to Linux Course

    The Linux Foundation’s official Introduction to Linux training course, which previously cost $ 2,400, will be available for free on the EdX online learning platform. You can sign up for the course now. The EdX Mass Online Learning Platform was created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in collaboration with Harvard University. More than 30 universities are represented at it. Now the Linux Foundation will become the official partner of EdX. The course is assigned code LFS101x . It is designed for 40-60 hours of training. Classes will begin in the 3rd quarter of 2014.

    If the first experience is successful, the Linux Foundation is going to publish other, more advanced courses. According to the reportabout the state of the Linux labor market for 2014, the need for specialists in this OS is growing rapidly - Linux today works literally everywhere - from supercomputers to household appliances, and already dominates the mobile market due to Android. According to Jennifer Cloer, director of public relations at the Linux Foundation, 2,500 people have already signed up for the course in the first day after registration.
